Develove

Develove 🧑🏾‍💻 Develove is a super cool social media forum that aims to bring in the best features of Stack Overflow, Twitter, Medium, LinkedIn, Reddit (and Tinder 🔥). It's a place to meet and engage with supa-cool people from all over the world. Some features ⚙️ Guilds 👾 - (like discord servers) for real-time texting Member search 🥷 - pan searches across users, blazingly fast using [typesense]( ⚡️🔎 and connect with them Blog search 📦 - also search through forums and blogs (with markdown support 💅🏽) User profiles - that use cute avatars from [dicebear]( 🧘🏽‍♂ The process 🤔 We constantly see people whine on Twitter about how we need a platform for developers to come together and so we set out to unify things. That was the main goal here: to bring all things wonderful, together. So we brought together various features from various platforms for all the devs out there, under one roof. The premise follows these points: It’s a community where developers connect and thrive 👯 For the community, by the community ❤️ Free forever, Open-sourced 👨🏾‍💻👩🏼‍💻 Simplifies the developer community and OSS ⚡️

Techswag

Techswag \_Styling beyond your CSS Techswag aims to be the one place where tech lovers can find all their favourite swag available for sale. Granted, some swag such as Vercel's cup with a cork base are for employees only, while others such as Supabase's hackathon gold t-shirt can only be won if you attain the honorific title as their hackathon winner (or maybe you just have $1,000,000 to spare). However, many of them are for sale, and we aim to showcase (and link you there) on Techswag. Live site techswag.io (Yes, we are so committed to the cause—and we love tech swag that much—that we got an .io domain just for this 🔥 ) All Star Team Built with Next.js. Deployed on Vercel. Powered by Supabase. Usage of Supabase Database Brands, swag and categories are stored on separate tables. Could have taken normalisation a little further, but at this stage, it felt like an overkill. Logged in users can post new brands and swag on a protected route—that directly updates these tables. While we love the Supabase platform UI, building a submission form speeds up the process as we do not need to recall how Netflix is brand_id: 18. Realtime updates The feature really shines on the product/brand submission forms. When a user makes a submission under 'Add Brands', the dropdown selector for brands in the 'Add Products' detects the change and updates in a flash. Or, as they say, in realtime. This subscription feature is simple, but saves an unnecessary refresh, which speeds up the uploading process. Authentication I needed a log in for admins to post information. The initial idea was to prevent sign-ups with email/password, but I really wanted to play with Supabase's magic links, so a decision was made. Storage We needed to store swag images in our storage as tech firms have a habit of unlisting dated swag, which wouldn't work well for us. Every image posted goes through the storage first for the public URL it is submitted as a datbase entry. Life after Hackathon Upserting Instead of having to add new brands and products seperately, upserting would make the process smoother. Sorting by Brands Currently, products are sorted by categories. Let's bring in the big boys, shall we? Revamp The UI has some way to go. We aim to do a full frontend revamp before bringing this site to more tech swag lovers. Motivations The objective of this hackathon was to let us play with the best of what Supabase and Next.js has to offer—that was key. Coming in late into the hackathon, the idea has to be something that we were deeply interested in—yes, our deep interest lies in tech swags—but is something that can be completed on time while allowing us to test out the various features of Supabase. Working on this has increased our confidence in taking on this All-Star stack for an upcoming product. Well, this was fun—we hope you enjoyed it too.

Twitter without toxic and negativity The main purpose of this idea is to create a toxic-free and negativity-free platform for users to share their latest creation or idea. This is actually to solve my own craving for a platform like this. Scope This project turns out to be quite a challenge for me, as I'm currently still having a full-time job, and the complexity of the relational database is not my forte yet. But I somehow managed to say this is the MVP for this project. Inspiration I saw a few post on Twitter where the user decided to leave the platform because of the negativity, and all the hates. Furthermore, [Polywork]( inspired me to create a platform for those user. I didn't enjoy Polywork because of its super high complexity for someone who just wanted to post a simple story on my timeline. Thus, I look this liberty, and challenge to create this platform. Party Parrot as a Service

Team Jay Khatri (@theJayKhatri) John Pham (@JohnPhamous) About Party Parrot as a Service Party Parrot as a Service is your one-stop-shop for all your party parrot needs. We provide you with an easy way to generate party parrots for you, your team, your friends, and anyone else (everyone deserves a party parrot). Parrot seekers can use Party Parrot as Service either through our web app or our API. After receiving an image from you, our team of hundreds of parrots gets to work: Detect the face in the image Crop the image to only include the face Extract the face from the foreground making the background transparent Creates a party parrot from the face Sends the finished party parrot to their new home While party parrots wait to get picked up, we store them cozily in Supabase's Storage. We also record all the party parrots created in a Supabase database. The database allows us to keep track of how many party parrots have been created and showcase them on our web app. Background At Highlight after a person joins was varied. ![]( is a pretty important metric for our company; it drives many of the core business decisions we make. With Party Parrot as a Service, we'll be able to drive this metric up. Next Steps We'll be building a Slack bot that listens to whenever a new person joins our Slack Workspace. After that person joins, we'll send their profile image to Party Parrot as a Service, upload the party parrot as a Slack emoji, then react to the person's joining message with the party parrot.

TLWR (The Long and Winding Road): Visualize User's Routing Paths

TLWR: The Long and Winding Road ![thelongwinding_road]( Demo Video [![Watch the video]( Problem We tried to Solve During service experience, users sometimes encounter the long and winding road to achieve their goal. As a service developer and provider, we need to know how the users suffer from the complex route connections and how to enhance the routing connections. What we provide TLWR (The Long and Winding Road) provides a collection tool of routing behavior of users and a visualization dynamic transition of routing paths for Flutter based services. We hope that service owners can achieve useful insight of users behavior and what has to be modified for the enhancement of the service. Here's a link to the working site [ Have a look around, we made the frontend as intuitive as possible to make it supa-easy for new users, and also prepared a demo account with pre-recorded routing behaviors. The Team Taejung Heo - GitHub( Demo Here's quick demo of TLWR : (not yet) How it works Supabase has been great hand for finishing this project in such a short period of time. Here's how we used it's features to efficiently deploy our service When a user first signs in, TLWR sends a magic link using Supabase authentication service. We provides TLWR routing observer. This observer sends log of users' page routing behaviors to our API server (feat. Supabase database). The page nodes and routing edges are stored in Supabase database to visualize page network. The frontend web site visualizes the page network of a running flutter service based on how users often and long visited and routed to the other page. How to user TLWR observer final logger = TLWRLogger.initialize(id: PROJECTID); final observer = TLWRObserver.initialize(tlwrLogger: logger); void main() { runApp(MaterialApp( home: Container(), navigatorObservers: [_observer], )); }

Pawternity Hub

It all started in a hackathon as my group brainstormed for ideas on what we can do to help the community. Due to covid19, the hackathon, Owl Hacks, was done remotely and seemed the perfect opportunity to meet and collaborate with other developers. My group came up with the idea of creating a Pet Adoption website where people could find local pets around their area to adopt. The technology we used is React along with Bootstrap for the styling and using the PetFinder API to request information about the pets. It was tricky because some of the members were brand new to React and had to show them the ropes. It was quite the learning experience for them and me too as I never really taught React Due to the harsh times we are in, I hope people would be able to find their own buddy that can help them. The goal is to make it easier for people to adopt pets and learn more information about the pets during covid19
